Tips on determining volume
Method 1 — weight of water/wax: enter the weight of the water or wax needed to fill your mold (ounces or grams). Microcrystalline wax has the same specific gravity as water, so lost-wax casters can weigh the wax consumed. For clay objects, use water displacement.
Method 2 — volume of the space: enter the mold cavity volume in cubic inches or centimeters. For simple shapes measure height × width × length; for irregular shapes, fill with rice and measure the rice's volume.
